DiveJay Cold Bored A Golf Ball at 750 yds!

But I didn't have the damn camera running when he did it. But I witnessed it, lol. Here he is hitting it again on a third round. We did load development in the morning on two rifles and shot steel (Jason wore them out) the rest of afternoon and it was frigging hot, like 102. Great shooting Jason!

We're about at the max where my camera can pick up. The next furthest video will have to be with the camera near the ball and one radio on hot-mic.

Could you teach me to hit a golf ball? I'd be willing to start by trying to learn to hit one of the God damned things with a golf club first.

Shooting them has a recurring appeal though it has more often been with a pistol, at two or three foot range, with a certain degree of frustration.

Not to take anything away from the concentration and skill of DiveJay, nor the ministrations of his instructor, cough, cough, but what degree of rifle accuracy do you consider minimum for this exercise? 1/2 MOA? 1/4?

Naturally an optimized load follows, but this golf ball busting looks like a waste of ammo with anyting less accurate beyond 100 yards or so.

When we do this, it isn't with the perfect load we found in the morning because there isn't enough time to load rounds and then shoot in the afternoon. I can usually figure out a load that will be adequate in their rifle. Most of the time they print 3/4 moa or better on paper at 100 yards with that load. However, a lot of thing can be overcome by driving the rifle and focusing on the target, rather than worrying about 100 yard group size.

Well then...On my next trip, given my rifles and ammo are capable of 3/4 moa, the misses on golf balls are mine and mine alone!

Can't seem to hit the bastards consistantly with any device!

Good Job DiveJay!!! I guess if CKS's customers keep doing this, about October there will be someone with a 1000 yard golfball shot. When I went with CKA it was just the opposite of your hot day, 20+ degrees and rain/sleet out at the old range. With all the clothes we had on we looked like dough boys. Congrats on the super shooting. Builds great confidence. Keep it up!!
