Rifle Scopes DMR II Pro 3.5-21x50mm

My open box DMR Pro showed up today. It was completely new with factory seal and no sign of anything in the box ever having been unwrapped. The one I got in the gap deal had the seal broken (was obviously also new and factory packaged not complaining).
Mine was also sealed. My guess is bushnell is trying to get these scopes out there & find a price where they would sell because of the competition in the $1000-2000 range. When I asked bushnell about the open box they said they were just returns but like yours mine was new. I told bushnell about the spotting scopes I had to send back so they gave me a coupon code that got my price just under $2000 for the xrs2 & dmr pro & I also got the hoppes universal kit too but I didn’t order that so I thought maybe they made a mistake or just trying to make good on the trouble I had because 2 of the cheap ffp spotters broke on me

I’m probably in the minority here but there’s no way Tenebraex and Aadmount caps are worth 10x as much at BCs. I’ve not tried the Aadmount caps but I’ve had a couple high end scopes that came with Tenabraex. They are much nicer and I like that they flip open farther but at $100 vs $12 a set they aren’t nice enough to me and I can’t shoot the difference. If you went through a couple sets of BCs running and gunning I could see it but I’ve only ever broken a handful of my BCs and they live in every one of my rifles I’ve ever had.

DMR uses 44 obj and 19 eye. I imagine the XRS is the same.

I didn't buy my aad caps because of the $ multiplicative difference. I bought them because the hassle of having them break when using them is worth more that the $ difference. I hate bc caps because they break when you need them. There is a value in having something work when it's needed most.. TO ME, that value far outweighs the cost multiplicative difference here.

Got my DMR II Pro and it was brand new along with the bonus cleaning kit. Glass on the scope looks great to me, close to my Gen II Razor. Only thing that has me slightly annoyed is the tunneling below about 5X. I can live with it (just won't use below 5X) for the price, but it is there and fairly obvious on mine.

I only need my caps when I’m not using the rifle. I can tolerate tossing on the covers that came with it or my spare BC when I toss it back in the safe.

I played with my DMR Pro some yesterday. CA performance is really good compared to the ERS. Very happy with that. Tunneling ends directly between 3.5 and 5. I can live it’s that. Eyebox is pretty sensitive at 21. Not sure if better than or same as the ERS. It’s not awful but not forgiving like my K525.

Good scope caps are definitely worth it. $100 is small price to pay to protect $1000+ optics. I just ordered the Aadmount, so we will see how long it takes. Good caps are way more convenient & Aadmount are built like tanks plus lifetime warranty

It only tunnels from 4x-3.5x, so don’t use that last .5x. My pmii tunnels from 7x-5x but I could care less about because I never turn my power down that far

I too have both scopes.and never shoot on those magnif reticles too fine almost useless unless turning on illum.but i do use them for larger FOV
I usually keep it around 10x for scanning hogs by our creek so if I have to take a quick shot I’m not too low in mag to see the reticle. I also use the conquest hd 8x32 which have a huge 435 ft fov. Some people think the dmr pro eye box is tight & it is compared to scopes with 56mm objectives & larger fov because fov & exit pupil size is what makes an optic easier to get behind. My conquest 8x32 are a lot easier to get a good picture vs friends 8x32 with a much smaller fov. I have no problem with the dmr pro eye box, I got used to it quick

Jon from Aadmount said bushnells are his biggest seller & shipping is only 7-10 days on them. He also said the ocular is a little bigger on the xrs2 than the pro so the xrs2 eye box might be more forgiving. Order the dmr/xrs/ers for the pro they share the same profile but not the xrs2. I compared the pro to the xrs2 & the eye box is a little better but not a huge difference.

I didn’t want to get rid of it but the dmr pro is going on a 22br that’s almost done & im not building another rifle till next year & I haven’t made up my mind about a 28 nosler, 7-300 Norma, or 300 prc.

that is indeed a hard choice. I think I like 28 Nosler more... but if you want a 30 cal go PRC

I might end up building the 28 nosler. I like how efficient the 28 is. Since I have a barret mrad 338, I might also get the 300 prc conversion when it becomes available. The 7-300 norma would be good too if there was lapua brass available but I wonder if lapua will make 300 norma brass since 300 prc seems like it might become the next 30 cal mag to take over.

Are all of these sold out now? ... I cannot locate them on the Bushnell site.
Yeah they sold out pretty fast & the sale ended today. If you go to the site the new xrs2 are back up to $2200 & they were on sale new for $1600 & open box for $1100. I think they do this sale 2x a year. Last year was in June & late November

This was a one time deal on the sale. Don't expect to see it again.
Last year they had open box/refurbished sales in June or July & one in November I think but they weren’t 50% or I would have bought a dmr2 & an lrts. I came close to getting a bushnell last year. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do something close to this before Christmas. Bushnell has more rebates, open box/refurbished, & sales than any other optic company I know of. My guess is you are right & probably won’t be a sale as good as this one was

To clarify: I wasn't referring to the open box sale, just the sub-MAP sale on new optics. The rebates will probably happen again, and same with the open box (depending on availability), but don't expect to ever see new Pros for that price again through normal retail.

Definitely not, the pros & xrs2 was 50% off. They won’t do that again this year. There will be another sale towards the end of year I bet but not as good

They had the Pros on sale when the sale first started, but I assume they ran out or decided to pull it after a few days.
Before the sale started the xrs2 was $2250 & the pro $2000. The first day of the sale the xrs2 had 2 options buy it new for 30% off for $1650 & open box for $1100. The pro never had a buy it new option for 30% off or it would have been $1400, they only had the open box option for $970. The open box xrs2 sold out in 2 days at $1100 but the $1650 30% off price was still going to the end of sale. The open box Pro lasted 4 days because I bought the xrs2 & pro the 2nd day of the sale & the Pro was still available 2 days later until it was sold out. What I thought was odd was the pro only had an open box option for $970 & no new ones at 30% off for $1400

Before the open box dropped at least they did have a pro on sale for ~1200 right at the start of the sales.
Which I remember distinctly because I thought it was kind of annoying because after a few months of waiting I had just finally gotten my rebate back from the liberty optics sale+20% rebate which came out to the same price.

My credit card wouldnt go through during the sale. If anyone has an open box XRS II 4.5-30x50 g3 illuminated that they had a change of heart on and want to get out from under, PM me.

I had my two DMR 2 Pros out yesterday after work. Really happy with the glass. It isn’t $3k clear but it’s awesome for $900. Really happy with the turret feel and the zero stop is nice compared to the ERS. I don’t love the reticle but I don’t hate it. Wish it had some .2 mil marks. I was shooting at white targets against a dark background with lots of sunshine on the targets and no noticeable CA. I’ve seen it in my back yard but on the range in CA conditions it wasn’t there. I’m really pleased with these the more I use them. I shot them side by side with my K525 which was very superior in IQ, but I wasn’t disappointed at all when I switched back to the Pro. At 1/3 the cost you get about 90% of the value.

When Bushnell offers an illuminated pro I will pick one up. I prefer Illuminated FFP scopes even though I rarely use it. You know just in case. Lol

I agree the pro & xrs2 are awesome & at $900 & $1100 they are unbeatable but they are not as good as my pmii & I never expected them to be. Like you said 90% of the performance at 1/3 the cost. My friend first showed me the Pro & xrs2 & I thought they were among the best for the $$ at their street prices comparable to Cronus btr, mk5hd, trijicon accupower, & razor but sale prices moves them to #1 best scopes for the $$ in my opinion. They handle ca very well & one the brightest 50mm objectives ive seen, close to the 5-20 short pmii

Did some load development today on my .260 with the DMR Pro. I’m even more impressed by this thing every time I get behind it. 12x was way more than enough at 100 yards. Reticle thickness was just about perfect at 12. 6.5mm holes in orange spots on plain white paper targets were clear as day. IQ below 21x is pretty great.

Ordered Aadmount caps on June 17 & 15 days later they are here. They said 7-10 days but I could care less because these caps are rock solid & high quality.

I like the little side screw that can tighten or expand so if a sun shade is slightly bigger or smaller it can adjust.
