I'm looking for a new optic for my new valkyrie. I have a dmr with g2 reticle on another rifle, so I am familiar with the reticle. How does this scope rate compared to similar smaller scopes (mk5, xtr3, ATACR, etc.)?

Compared to the regular DMRII, the DMRII Pro has (to my eyes) significantly improved clarity and reduced CA, with better colors overall. In my opinion, they're a great value when you can find them with a discount or on sale, but with the Razor Gen2 price drops, that may be the better way to go if you like the reticle options there. I've always liked the GAP-style reticles, but with two USOs with the original GAP, I felt I could sell my DMRII Pro and step up to the Razor now that the prices have dropped and still have a simply, uncluttered reticle to use when I wanted.

If you can find one at a good price, go for it. They're solid optics that will serve you well.

I like Bushnell. Always have. I still own a couple.

I think the DMR Pro is a nice optic. My only reservation is I think its overpriced. I think it's more competitive at the $1000 to $1200 price point.

Sounds like you're referencing the DMR II? DMR II Pro is the same as the XRS II just lower magnification range. ED Glass from LOW supposedly. Granted i've not seen a DMR II Pro, have seen the XRS II though and it's right there with the Gen II Razor/Cronus/ATACR etc. Was yours that bad?

I sold a gen ii razor to get my Bushnell xrs 2, it's a great optic. I then got DMR II, later HDMR2's, I love the whole line. Various uses. DMR II has better eye box to me. Xrs 2 has little brighter glass and color. DMR pro must be the hybrid brain child, prime glass, yet easy eye box. It also has numbers on half mils like xrs 2 turret. Honestly, all these higher end offerings from Bushnell are sweet.

No, you're actually correct Will. I was talking about the DMR II, not the DMR II Pro.

I have also looked through the ERS II. But not actually the Pro. My bad...

There was never an ERS2, but the DMR2 Pro is the closest thing to it. The idea of calling it the ERS2 was kicked around before they settled on the DMR2 Pro, so if you saw one of the prototypes George and Bryan had, then you probably saw a Pro. I think one of the prototypes was even marked ERS2, but I'm not sure.

I've got a DMR2 Pro on my 18" gas gun, and I've been very happy with it. The eyebox is more generous (although I've never had issues with the one in my XRS2s), and the glass is excellent. It is indeed the same ED Prime glass from the XRS2, just at a lower mag range. The lower top end makes the DMR2 Pro appear a little brighter than the XRS2. IMO, the PRO is still a great scope for the money, even with the recent Vortex price drops. If you qualify for ExpertVoice, though... All I am saying is 'wow'.

Thanks for all the good info, you dont hear much about the bushnell line anymore.

I think a lot of people overlook them because of perceptions left over from the previous product line, and some prior issues with CS (that have been pretty well solved, from what I have seen). I've run Bushnell stuff almost exclusively (with the occasional other brand when I caught a deal on something), and I've been extremely happy with them. The latest generation optics in the Elite Tactical line have been fantastic. I wouldn't be surprised to see them start to show up a lot more often on people's rifles this year when they start to figure out how good the XS2 and DMR2 Pro really are.
