i have been very fortunate to score 30 acres of land to hunt on next fall...I am wondering if there is a pop up blind I can bow hunt and rifle hunt out of... I will be hunting farm land and woods. Any suggestions or experiences will be greatly appreciated...

Re: Do it all pop up hunting blind?

I love my ameristep intimidator blind. The hub design makes set-up/take-down fast and easy. It is light which is nice, especially when the only way to get to the deer in my area is to walk in a mile or so. The 360* view is great for when the deer sneak in from unexpected directions (as they often do). It also has shoot through mesh and adjustable window height. I have used it for bow and rifle in some of the worst conditions(rain, snow, hail, wind, etc.) up here near the canadian border and it has never failed to impress me. I always veg. it in really well and the deer have come in as close as 5 yards. I wouldn't hesitate to use this blind in any scenario.

Re: Do it all pop up hunting blind?

I've always used the double bull blinds, mostly the 360 but I used a buddies Crusher last spring and they are a little more well constructed than the 360. As far as effectiveness you can't go wrong if used properly. The key with the double bulls is to get it as dark as possible inside the blind and wear black upper body clothing and the animals won't see you even inside 10 yards. We've gone as far as to wave at them and they don't seem to notice. Price is a little steep for some but you get what you pay for.

+1 on the Ameristep Intimidator.

I love mine and it has had the hell beat out of it and it still works. A bad storm blew in, snatched it out the ground and had it tied up in a fence row a 100m away and beat seven bails of shite out of it. Still using it almost three years later.

Do you plan to have anyone else along?? If so get a fairly large blind, otherwise it will get crowded in a hurry. Also, make sure you can practice drawing your bow in the store. Watch the back wall.

+1 on the ameristep, just be sure to let it air out good before use and keep it scent free when in storage. Also, brush that sucker in, deer will spot it in a heart beat as something out of place not normally there. Turkeys could give a shit less on the other hand though.
