Does anyone shoot their Knights guns in volume?

This thread has taught me what I long suspected. KACs are so operator that even operators can't out operate them.

The other thread you'll never see? It's time to replace the barrel on my Larue tactical. Haven't seen one of those either.

Seriously though, I think that JP also claims a really crazy barrel life round count due to cryogenic treatment.

quite a few barrels will last; KAC, LMT are known for it.

Hell, even Hendersons in Las Vegas is getting ridiculous round counts out of Colt barrels

The issue, as everyone knows is, how many of those rounds are on full auto cycles and at what intervals

Well I guess I can get a knights and shoot it all I want.

I’m not sure how they make a barrel so it miraculously outlasts everyone else’s by almost 2 fold. But I guess at 30k worth of ammo….the cost of an upper is basically a drop in the bucket.

I was directing that more towards the KAC rep than you personally.

Always blows my mind when I hear that +30k round stuff, regardless of who's saying it. Not saying it's impossible, but I've got a decent little pile of smoked barrels, most stainless but a couple 4150 nitride tubes, and not a one has gone past 13xxx rounds. A couple started to keyhole before I pulled them. Well over double that lifespan, even being CHF, is hard for my little lizard brain to comprehend.

I'm sure its not a .25 MOA gun or whatever., It probably never was. I wouldn't know as the only 'precision' work I've ever done with it was to zero it at 50 yards.

I also primarily use some flavor of M193, so the accuracy expectations given the fact its not match grade ammo is also in there.

We have a drill we do alot and usually bet burpees on it as punishment. I use a 11.5 with an Aimpoint T1 on it probably 98% of the time and I will clear the far target more often at not and sometimes get in a rhythm where I just can't miss it. This with a gun with 30k+ on it.

6 rounds max (1 follow up shot on each plate if the first is a miss). All standing, offhand.

75 yards on a 60%
rotate around 45 degrees (may require a footing/stance change, or you can rotate depending how you're facing)
75 yards on a 40%
rotate 90 degrees
195 yards on a 60%

Take a look at the gaps on yours, they must be half rings by now.

Right, so another 10-15k isn't going to kill it. Have I missed because its worn down since the first round? Maybe. Who knows.

I was shocked how much the original LMT rings opened at the gap.

It was not malfunctioning though, ran fine.

I feared having part of one fall out and get someplace it shouldn’t.

Lots of hard carbon being wiped by those rings, I believe that the BC internal cylinder area should be chrome lined
where many carriers are BS black nitride.

LMT is chrome.

I’d rather the rings wear than anything else.

Quick, reasonable priced fix.

Just inspect them every time the bolts out of the carrier.

Always have a few spares.

Dont even go there, KAC rifles are manufactured by the gods on mount Olympus
using metals that come from meteors that originated when the Big Bang occurred.

One day KAC will teach every other barrel maker in the universe how to make good barrels.

I own 3 & yep, they get their turn in the barrel...................not really HIGH volume, per se', but 500-1,000 rounds each per year at least.
