I did a search on this and found 2 threads, but both were back in 2008/2009. I just wanted to see if there was maybe any updated or new versions of this out? I'm looking for one of the wrist band/forearm bands that have the clear plastic sleeve on the front where you can slide in a 3x5 or similar size dope card.

I don't want one with multiple fold-outs, just a single on top, or a flip up version. So far, the simplest version I've seen ins the Under Armour wrist coach. It looks good, but not having seen one in person, I'd like to know if it would fit over a jacket sleeve?

Any other versions of this product out there? Any hide vendors selling something like this? I'm needing to find one before next weekend.

    Thanks,

Underarmour or Nike from any sporting goods store. Yes, it will fit over a jacket depending on the sleeve size. It's elastic so if you've got bowling pin forearms wearing a huge down parka will make a difference.

But as far as the product in and of itself it works fine. I've been using one for all of 2011.

You can try a commander's or assaulter's forearm holder.

Mike & 427.....thanks for the info. I'll check my local Hibbet Sports store this evening and see if I can find a UA or a Nike.

    Thanks again,

Recommended, after testing a bunch of these in the field and shooting comps:

    215 Gear: Operator's Wrist Coach
    http://215gearstore.com/operatorswristcoach.aspx

    - 3x5 cards fit.
    - Data is quick to reference and protected from the elements.
    - Fits over winter shell garments; doesn't interfere with wearing a watch.
    - Fairly priced.
    - Durable.
    - Not overly complicated or bulky.

I started out with an elastic wrist coach for football players. In my experience, the above item is a marked improvement for the reasons listed.

Get the $10 nike and call it a day. As long as it is football season, any local sporting goods store should have one.

For an arm board I've used one from Mayflower for 3 years now and its still going strong. I know this wasn't your question, but what I've been using lately is a little Walmart ID card holder with the retractable lanyard. I think they're around a buck or so and I just attach the lanyard to my sling.

If your still looking, I like the Tab Dope Thing, although it is not nearly as big as the forearm board, I like it. It just goes on the sling, close to where the bipod is. Same concept, just smaller than the forearm band.

My solution is simpler. I set up my dope with the Pejsa spreadsheet, then use the tab at the bottom of the page to print a gunstock table. I scissors trim it and laminate/tape it with clear package sealing tape to the side of the rifle stock. that way, the rifle and dope never get separated. I can fit several side-by-side to accomodate multiple loads. If you print it on yellow paper, smallish type is easier to read, and mounting it just below the cheekweld hides it nicely when you're shooting.

Greg, that is the way I'm currently doing it now. I'm just looking at some different options that may work better for me personally in a comp. If you can memorize your drops, then your all set, but I don't want to make a mistake. My logic behind the forearm band on my left arm would allow me to see the data without having to come off the rifle while shooting. Also, in a situation where I'd be moving from one target station to another, it seems like it'd be easier to glance at my left forearm while moving than to be trying to flip my rifle over to the side and read the drops before getting to the next station. I'm not a seasoned comp shooter, I'm new to this so like I said, im just looking at things that might work better for me.

    I also run a Mayflower:

I like it because I can get a lot more data in it than I can by just attaching cards to my rifle. For a match, I can create a specific list of data in advance or on the spot.

That one from 215Gear looks pretty similar. I was not a huge fan of the multifold ones, too much going on and they are tougher to manage on the fly.
