I would definitely have to agree with some the members above concerning DT ammo. It isn't bad, but it isn't great either. I have personal shooting experience with DT, BB, Corbon, and Underwood. Of the 4 choices, Underwood is the most consistent, followed by BB, then Corbon, and finally DT. Now, as far as defensive situations go, any of them would stop a threat fairly quickly provided you do your part. However, I would need more info as to what you are inquiring about. Basically, performance-wise, I've found Underwood, Corbon, and BB to be neck and neck. They are all consistent loads in the calibers I have used them in (9mm, 40, 357 sig, and 45 auto). Underwood and BB typically at least exceed the stated velocities on the box. Corbon is right at the stated velocities on the box. DT has been all over the place, velocity-wise according to my chrony. Best bang for the buck is Underwood for 2 reasons...consistency and price. Underwood gives you a full box of 50 vs 20 for the others, except for DT. Most quality defensive rounds will do what is necessary and then some provided you do your part. All of these manufacturers are loading either Speer GD, Barnes XPB, or Hornady XTP. DT will sometimes load up some Montanas. All this said, I'd go Underwood if you want the real deal that is cost-effective. The only problem is that Kevin Underwood is having issues with having components in stock, as are other small batch manufacturers in the industry right now. Hope this has helped instead of muddying the waters for you.
