Gents,
Have a question regarding what twist to get for the Douglas 18" barrel. I will be shooting primarily the heavy grain ammo 69-77 out to effective distances, but I would also like to have the option of shooting the 55-62gr. I'm looking at a 1:7 or the 1:8 Douglas. I know the faster twist is better for heavy and vice versa. This is for a PRI Mk12 MOD 0 btw.
I want to know specifically for this Douglas barrel not other barrels.
Would the 1:7 be the best since I'm shooting primarily 69-77? Or is the 1:8 going to offer the exact same accuracy out to 500 meters?
Is it a marginal difference between the two for heavy bullets? Also, since I do want to be able to shoot the 55gr, will the 1:8 offer better accuracy to 300+ meters over the 1:7, or same?
Basically, I don't want to get the 1:8, and later on say I wish I had gotten the 1:7 b/c I would be getting better MOA's right now.
Thanks for the comments.
