I finally got to shoot my new LR-308 today. I did the barrel break in as per DPMS. This rifle is awesome and fun to shoot. I am however slightly confused.I have heard that with Semi Auto's that some will have a difference between where the 1 st round and the following rounds impact. At 100 yds using FGMM 168 my cold bore shot is high and to the left from 1/2 inch to 1 inch from the other 2 rounds in the 3 shot groups I was shooting. The other 2 rounds are allmost 1 hole. I had shot a total of 198 rounds today and I am courious if 1, the barrel was lukewarm to warm and thats the cause of it, 2 its me and fatigue, or 3, is this common with this type of weapon.4 Or does it need the full 200 rnds plus for the barrel to find its sweet spot? I also shot a couple of 168 Hornady TAP rounds and they were not near as accurate in this rifle. The rifle is stock and the only mod is a Wilson TTU Single Stage which is great no problems at all today, A Magpul Mag. and a different grip. The rifle was shot on a Harris Bi-Pod off a bench and using a rear sandbag. No issues what so ever from this rifle, no failure to feeds, stove pipes, nothing at all, it perfromed just as it should. Mainly because of you guys here on the hide helping out and telling what needed to be fixed. One other question is what kind of rear bag do you all recomend while using the standard stock that it comes with? I was looking at Triad Tactical and would like your alls opinion on which one.
