If B stands for barrel,what does A stand for?

I think that what he means is that the "A" has a 24" stainless bull barrel, and the "B" has a 18" chrome moly barrel.

The stock, grip, and gas block are not original to the rifle- nor are the ambi safety and the phase5 bolt release.

If it's not a DPMS Gen II, then it's just another variation of a DPMS LR-308. Not familiar with this one, but it looks like it has an extruded upper receiver and a really tall pic rail. Barrel length may be the only difference.

Mine was the predecessor to the Gen 1. Bought it used. Worked up a load with the 155 V Max, and never shot it much after that. It was a little on the heavy side.
