Suppressors Dropped my suppressor

I was putting my AAC 762 SD on my AR-15 and thought I had it started threading on so I let go while pointing the gun down toward the ground at the range.
It was like in slow motion it fell to the smooth concrete below putting a little flat spot on the weld on the end cap where it hit

I am sooooo pissed at myself!
I would take a picture but I don't think I could get it to show as it is just a little flat spot. Anyone else ever done this?

Better than a baffle strike I'd say. At least it wasn't rough concrete though.

Yeah it didn't remove any finish from the spot where it hit which is good. I am just po'ed that I did it.

it does not feel good...but in the scheme of things it should function fine. most of them are built pretty tough.

i agree, i have three of them, and a baffle strike would ruin my day.

You are right overall it isn't a big deal and a baffle strike would have been much, much worse. It doesn't appear injured and functioned just fine afterwards but being that it was > $1000 with the stamp it is like dropping a gun which I have never done and hope never to do.

Shit happens when you use your gear. I don't intentionally beat on my gear but I buy quality so it can take punishment. All of my gear looks used, it doesn't affect function.

All of my silencers have nicks scratches and dings. So do some of my guns No big deal.

I had my can on my gun down at the steel safari this year, and I had it leaning against a fence while I was putting stuff away. I bumped it and it slid down the barb wire fence scratching the shit out of the can and then it hit the ground. I cursed a few times for being clumsy. Didn't give it a second thought after that. Still works so who cares about the rest.

I've done it before.

Shit happens, my omega 30 is beat to hell and back but still performs. banging it around at tactical matches doesn't help but its not a safe queen either.

Consider it a beauty mark.

Thanks guys. I know it's a beauty mark and it still works. Hopefully when it happens again I will have a good story behind it.

Now I need to get the money to send my rifle to Randy and have it threaded so I can use it on the .308 like intended instead of only the AR. My wife just got her wisdom teeth out so that is a nice bill on the way. I'm hoping soon but time will tell.

If it is mine, I can deal with it. I hate doing that to others. My 308 bolt gun gets beat up a bit. Needs a new paint job now. A 15 mile ride through the hills in back of a Rhino isn't good on scope's apperance. It was that or leave the gun behind. What would you do

My SEI/Fisher M14DC 0.30 Cal suppressor fell out of my 4WD truck onto pavement... not a scratch

Don't feel bad, my Surefire 5.56 can has melted pieces of rifle case stuck to it. I chipped most of it off but it probably needs to be blasted to get it off completely.

My worst was when loading up for the Kearney, NE shoot. For what ever reason I had the front passenger seat layed down. While loading I layed my Scattergun Tech AOW on the seat back.

Later while loading the seat back was in the way of the side sliding door and I reached up and lifted the seat back release handle. Of course it launched my AOW out into the driveway and onto the concrete. Got one tiny ding at the muzzle and one very tiny ding in the parkerized area top rear of receiver.

Just this 4th of july while shooting at my birthplace with family the QD silencer off my UZI fell into the creek off the bridge. It was retrieved of course.

The only nice thing about abusing gear is to find out whether or not it can take it. I baby my stuff at home and overseas, I hate loosing zeroes or banging it up, but Its nice to double check after a mishap and see what your kit is made of.

No need for all of that. I was at turtle sniper's place shooting a couple of months back, and I was shooting another rifle while someone else shot my AR with an AAC can. He finished shooting and laid it down on a tarp. Turtle sniper (I think) grabbed it as quick as he could, but instantly it had melted the tarp all over the can. I ran a mag through it quickly to get it hot, and it wiped right off. If the gun case melted onto your can, it'll melt back off, too.
