Ok, not really, the Magpul AFG will come off.

I just picked up a DTA SRS Covert and while debating on what scope to throw on it I grabbed the SS 1-4 in the Bobro since it was a QR mount. It looked good and looked very AR CQC-ish so I threw on the Magpul AFG....so then the light had to go one just for fun.

This rifle is obscene it's so short, I can't believe it's really a 16" barrel and not an SBR. I wasn't sure that I'd like the bullpup, but it's growing on me already and I haven't even shot it. I think I may have to call DTA and ask about other barrel, bolt and rail options. First impressions are pretty good.

Get side rail mounted bipod legs (see Vltor's Tango Down mod or RND's bipods).

Won't the legs get in the way of holding the AFG?

I reckon they would go well if they changed the end of the chassis so it could take a bipod like on the AICS stock.

Every time I see one of these rifles I can't help but think how incredibly handy one would be!!!

Out of curiosity...what's the OAL and the approx. weight (without the AFG and the TLR-1 that is

)?

It was really just a joke, the AFG is just on there because it was sitting on the gun safe when I opened it up and thought it'd be funny to slide it on. The Atlas looks much better now. The light is gone as well

I'll see if I can't throw a tape and scale together for you.

WOW! Thanks, Jason!

That is shorter than what I thought it'd be...36" in total length WITH the suppressor attached is just incredible ("KA-CHING" cash register noises echo in the background).

funny part is if you take the suppressor off and put a sunshade on the scope it will actually stick out farther than the barrel.

How long will you be keeping this one J? if you still have it in september bring it up so i can check it out.

Re: DTA CQC - Where does the bipod go on this thing..?

I found out about the sunshade the hard way on my Covert with a NF 5.5-22x50. I'm running a DTA brake instead of a can and the sunshade got pretty scorched from the muzzle blast before I realized it was happening and took it off when using the 16" barrel.

Re: DTA CQC - Where does the bipod go on this thing..?

If you want to go the the absolute shortest length possible on the Covert then pull the brake off and remove the length of pull spacers and it's just a hair over 26" overall length.

We have shot the coverts out to 1150 yards in Utah. Below is the 1000 yard target we shot during initial testing of the Covert rifle 16" 308 win. shot four consequitive 5 round groups with a 20 round aggregate that's approx 2 MOA extreme spread.
