does bell and carlson or someone make a m40a1 stock or close to it other than mcmillan,i dont have that kind of money right now

There are only (2) choices for an M40A1 stock.
(1) Original "RETURN" stock, usually it will include a COA.
(2) Current reproduction.
Anything else may be called what it wants, but is not even close?

The B&C stocks are not even close. I have had two of them and although they are a decent non-McMillan choice, the configuration is way off.
Get a McMillan and cry once.

The H-S stocks used on some Remingtons are surprisingly close in external dimensions.
Not sure on any Manners offerings.
That said, I have guns built on both an original USMC stock as well as a modern HTG. I love the design.
