Gunsmithing Duracoat hardener

Finally got a chance today to do some painting and when I went to measure my hardener it was about the consistancy of a very thick gel. It is a little less than a year old but has never been open. Has anyone seen this?

Sounds about right. Little bit of a surprise the first time, but it's fine.

were you able to spray it at about 40PSI? Mine is usually the consistency of whole milk or a little thicker.

Sorry you were referring to just the hardner. Yes that is its normal consistency. Thought you were referring to the entire mix.

Its so thick that I cant get it out the bottle. I called Duracoat and they are sending me some new hardener. They have some great customer service!

It will harden in the bottle over time. Over a year old, I wouldn't use it.

If it doesn't pour easily, toss it out. I now keep mine in the fridge and it seems to last forever. Take it out early and let it get to room temperature as it's very thick when cold.
