Suppressors E File Down

Ok so I just got off the phone with the shop I'm dealing with, and they are telling me that E File is still down and can't submit my form 4s. Is it down again or what? I'm thinking the dealer is giving me the run around.

They are still working the bugs out. An email circulated from the ATF about it going down. Their servers are over loaded. They also apologized for the issues and said they had a tech team working as fast as possible to correct it.

I called the shop again. They said they have 2 of my 4 form 4s in "draft form" on the computer EFile system, but the system keeps booting them out randomly when they try to submit or fill out my other two. Is this common, or a bunch of bull shit? I've been waiting almost a week now for them to submit four form 4s

It's true, we've been going through the same shit with form 2's and 3's.

There is a shit ton of problems with the consistency of the e-file website.... go figure being owned by the govt.

I'm on it throughout the day every day and sometimes its up sometimes its not. You have to basically be patient. I don't think the dealer is hosing you. Its a very choppy site so far. Better than paper but only marginally so at this point. I'm sure it will improve with time. -Evan

I got the email last week about them having issues and trying to work through them. I was planning on submitting a form 1 this afternoon. Does anybody have any tips before I do it? This will be my first e-file.

Been going over whether to e-file or do it the old hard copy way. My SOT hasn't made the decision whether to apply for approval to do e-file or not; he wasn't sure how long it'd take to get approved, but guessed it'd be 2-4 months. Even if that's so, it'd still save me a month or more of waiting on the stamp for the SF SOCOM that's sitting in his safe....hoping to hear from him by Monday, one way or the other, so I'll know whether to submit the form 4 via snail mail, or wait for him to get approved for e-file.

Efile takes a day or two for setup/approval. NFA branch is quick about this, in my experience.

Getting the forms submitted and paid for is another story, but the result is still much faster than paper forms (from what I hear, anyway).
