Eberlestock G4 Operator pack question.

Im getting the G4 Operator, http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1543349#Post1543349, and I have a question for anyone who has used these.

Can I put a rifle with bipod attached into the rifle sleeve? Or will I have to remove the bipod to put the rifle in the pack?

Also any additional input on the packs would be great.

I have a G4 and I always leave the bipod on. There is enough room for it.

How do you guys like your packs? How is it under a load? Does it hit your legs when your walking? Or drag when walking down hill?

It has plenty of room, and therefore can be overloaded. Even with heavy loads, it still balances and carries just fine. Great pack!

well i guess im gonna be the sore thumb, i HATE my eberlestock. We have the G4 Operator and most of us opted to buy our own packs and leave those things at home. there might be room for a short weekend but it has less room than my kifaru marauder. It has alot of little compartments so if thats what you like.. also it binds and doesnt load well with body armor. after a little trial and error in the mojave desert most of us that could afford it left it at home and got something else. another terrible feature is the rifle scabbard, it extends below the pack to a point that while on patrol you cant sit down for a security halt. I believe a mystery ranch or a kifaru could offer a much better pack to you and provide a means to transport your long gun. mho

I have also been looking at the mystery ranch but cant get any info on it.

How does it carry without armour?

How heavy is it?

How does the hard plastic rifle case work out?

I have this pack.... Its great.

I went on a death march in the sierras 9 long miles, 4000 ft of elevation change with a 60 ILb pack, It was not easy but the pack was great. My rifle was safe as can be.

Man I love my G4, it will haul anything I can put in the pack, I frequently use my eberlestock packs for muiti-day trips, carries the weight very well. The pack is fully adjustable and tougher than nails...I have one for sale, didn't know what camo I wanted so I bought both.
