I'm getting ready to throw a scope on the ebr. I want a 50mm lrt 4.5-14 TMR Illum reticle leupold but I'm not sure if the objective lens will clear the top rail on the sage. I'm looking for advice on the best rings for a leupold and what size height. I plan on using the sage stripper clip mount unless there are better ideas.

thanks

I'm aware of the mk4 m2 FDE. but for cheaper I can bump to a 50mm lens and can coat it myself. I have no knowledge when it comes to throwing glass on an EBR

Re: EBR MOD 1 SCOPE QUESTION

What cheek riser will you be using?

I ask because the #3 riser isn't quite tall enough for most traditional optics on a LT-608.

The NAVY uses a taller Mod 1 riser that is not available to civilians.

Re: EBR MOD 1 SCOPE QUESTION

i think im gonna buy adjustable butstock from sage and throw it on. even tho it pretty much defeats the purpose of a mod 1. ive get the cheek peice covered either way i was just unsure if a 50 mm could go on and what rings make it lowest to the barrel

Re: EBR MOD 1 SCOPE QUESTION

Get the Badger Ordnance USN EBR Mk14Mod0 Alloy rings (P/N 306-29). They are 1.250" high, and are specifically designed to be run on a flat top; especially the EBR (hence the designation/nomenclature). I run a set on my M1A Loaded w/ ERC (which is a flat top)with a 40mm objective, and I still have 8mm of clearance to the top of the rail. You will only need 5mm to accommodate a 50mm objective, which basically leaves you just enough room for scope caps.

Re: EBR MOD 1 SCOPE QUESTION

My USO has a 44mm objective and with low USO rings on top of a LT-608 there is about .5" clearance above the top rail and a little less than a .25" clearance above the front part of the LT-608.should have no problems with a 50mm objective. Like H20 said, for a good cheek weld you will have to get creative.

That is nice bro!!!! I'm in the process of building a MK14 MOD1 and soak up every valuable piece of intel I can gather on the platform. Can you give some details? My apologies, not trying to hijack.

Re: EBR MOD 1 SCOPE QUESTION

If I use the stripper clip sight base and a pair of scope rings do you think ill have decent cheek weld? If not with a 50mm then maybe a 40mm. what was used on the standard issue to the seals or did they run into the same issue. also i put my suppressor on today, fits perfect with the factory gas plug but my schuster adjustable is like 3/16 maybe a 1/4" too long any suggestions? i noticed it would not affect the plug if i shaved some off the end but i really hate jerry rigging a precision weapon.
thanks

The scope is a Nightforce 1-4x24 and Magpul made a special riser that is taller than the one supplied with civilian Mod 1 stocks.

teufelhunden over on The M14HDW Forum is building a clone of the Mod 1 that will be as close as possible to what was issued... you should touch base with him.

I will do the same as I am in the midst of a MK14 MOD1 build myself.

Thanks H20Man. This is my first foray into the ground up M1A build, so I need ALL of the valuable help/info I can get. I'll PM you the specs/parts I've accrued so far.
