It's a complete pain in the ass to hall around. I would consider the "Montana Decoy" instead. Simply because it's a lot easier to tote around.

In my experience, it's a crap shoot. 50% of the time, they run, but it's hard to tell if the decoy was the cause.
50% of the time they come in, but it's hard to tell if the decoy had anything to do with it.

Maybe I should say...

Re: Edge / Expedite 'yote 3D coyote decoy

thanks, i was going to make a homemade one out of the corrigated political type signs you "find" on the side of the road, but figured between time and materials to get it just right i might as well get a 3d one. i have another yote contest in a few weeks and me getting lazier by the day probably will not have the homemader done by then.

through searches i see folks having success with the 2d ones, however i found an edge one online for 37.00 w shipping, so the 3d may hold a visual advantage for the comparable price of a 2d.

i don't think i'd mind hauling around the edge if it's more of a size thing than weight.

heck, i can have my partner carry it too. we have 2 fields the coyotes are basically patroling each and every night in a zig zag pattern, i'm thinking that the 3d may bring in any hang ups with challenge barks if our setup is less than perfect.

does it collapse enough for stowage in a large pack?

A buddy of mine swears by them, during this time of year. He uses alot of challenge and female calls, instead of the prey calls.

Re: Edge / Expedite 'yote 3D coyote decoy

yeah that's what i'm thinking too. major high pressure on them this time of year in my area with 3 coyote contests going on between jan and march.

perhaps doing something different than a prey setup like most of the guys here do will produce results. especially if there is a moonlit with snow on ground night, i think the silhouette of a coyote with scent on it could be a winner, as in the morning evening hours too. hoping the need to F and defend territory is greater than the need to eat suring the mating season.

but as soon as you think you got em figured out, you realize you don't know squat. love the Yotes!

i ordered it anyway, we'll see see how it turns out.
