What impact on accuracy would you expect to see from drilling and tapping a short piece of Picatinny rail to a 10/22 bull barrel? It's not a target rifle more of a casual plinker.

I would expect more of an effect on accuracy based on what you ate for breakfast than attaching drilling and tapping a heavy barrel.

You know I have seen that option on Volquartsen barrels, called the cantilever mount. I guess it would benefit you good if you had it set up as a switch barrel rig. But other then that, I really don't see a huge gain. I'm sure there is some reason for it, Volquartsen has all there barrels drilled and tapped this way.
