Suppressors Effect of suppressor on accuracy on bolt gun

[CMOS]

I've got a Savage 10 FCP in 308 (24" bbl) and I'm currently pending on an AAC Cyclone suppressor for it. Obviously, I expect less felt recoil and it's going to be much quieter.

But what about accuracy? Has anyone here suppressed a Savage similar to this and found that accuracy was actually improved?

Most well made cans will improve accuracy a bit.

Ditto to what Ray Dog said, impact may be off a bit but a good can, can and will decrease your group size..

if everything is square, you sould get tighter groups, Ops Inc's webpage says some if not all their cans increase the accuracy by .25 MOA and velocity by 20-50fps... not sure about aac, i've ran some SRT TI cans with the same results as the ops inc information.

Im running an aac 7.62sd, it seems to help a little as far as accuracy goes, a can helps your accuracy due to the fact that it stabilizes the gas behind the bullet as it exits the muzzle, they also cut the recoil in half in my opinion on every large caliber rifle that I have shot them on, BUT BE CAREFUL, they will have a bad bad side effect on you, they will cause you to want to suppress everything and not want to shoot anything without a suppressor!

a guy told me this once and I now own two cans and am looking to purchase a third this spring, and a 4th this next summer....(to cover calibers from .17-.338)

Absolutely, a can certainly will not make an inaccurate rifle shoot well, but it will generally make an accurate rifle shoot a a bit better.

my can does help with my group size and it only shifts my POI from suppressed to non suppressed about 1MOA left. But like others said they are addictive!

First 3 at 100 yards with my Cyclone, it is my overall impression that the rifle shoots as well or better suppressed

because you have cleaning concerns, transportation issues, states that don't allow suppressed hunting etc............

Sorry I didn't mean 24/7, but most high end cans have a predictable impact shift. Take it off to clean it, always shoot with it on.

I'm not a hunter so I guess I didn't know you couldn't hunt with it on. Is this to give the deer a better chance to counter-snipe you?

amen to that one. I can't tell you how many times on the range someone comes up to me at the range and asks, I thought those are illegal. Then I have to explain everything or when I get tired of people asking I tell them that I made it in my basement.

And, since he didn't plug his own products, here's a testamony to RayDog's company's cans as extremely effective and well made. That would be Thunder Beast.
I have one of their 1st generation (2nd gen is even better) 30P cans that I use on a .260 (originally .308) AIAW. I love that can. To the point of the thread: does it improve accuracy? Probably but it's a pretty (inherently) accurate rifle to begin with (sub .5MOA). The difference in my mind is that it allows me to drive the gun more effectively.
I always shoot with the TBAC on. It's an extremely effective muzzle brake to where it makes calling hits/misses considerably easier.
Out of the cans that I own (TBAC, AAC, SilencerCo), the TBAC is my most prized accessory.
