In an effort to do a better job of recoil management I have changed my shooting position which called for the mount/scope back to adjust eye relief.
My question is how will this effect my zero?

depends...

usually some vertical...depending on how straight everything on the rifle is, not much windage (if its all straight)

also if u only moved it 1 notch, maybe less than .1 mil, more notches could be more

all this assumes you moved the scope/rings combo in the pic rail

if you loosened your scope caps and slid it back, then also all depends on how close it was clamped back down to original set up

...all that said...rezero before doing anything serious

Assuming you can closely repeat a zero when removing and replacing the mount
The angle to the target will change.
If the distance from scope center to a 100 yard target distance was 3600 +about 20 inches
changed to 3600 +about 21 inches after moving the scope back then you will have to readjust your 100 yard zero by
NOT MUCH :)
The change in zero due to just the movement backwards can easily be calculated using sight height above bore (at the center of the scope) and initial distance to target compared to new sight height (if using anything other than a zero MOA rail) and the new distance to the target.

Click, whir, buzz, clack
Not Much.
