Effects of strapping heavy bags to barrel

Had anyone noticed any ill effects of running the straps from barricade bags across your barrel? I always strap my bags across the scope, but I see alot of guys strapping the new heavy gamechanger bags across the barrel. I robbed this pic for an example.

I wouldnt be surprised if it did change POI. Depending on how tight its strapped. I wouldnt be strapping around the scope ethr. See lots of guys using the objective like a carry handle too. Just dont see any good coming from doing that. Know a guy who had scope internals come loose/bust from that.

Once the rifle is rested on the bag for a shot, the strap should have slack where I can't see it shifting POI enough to make or break a stage. Now if you have the bag always tight to the barrel, I wouldn't be surprised by a noticeable shift.

I've wondered about this same thing. Growing up hunting and shooting my dad was always making sure I didn't have a finger or anything even touching the barrel so I had wondered how that didn't affect poi or even the harmonics having the strap touching the barrel like that

I'm using the new game changer bag with straps, I can't tell any poi difference shooting off barricades with it. When it's resting on a barricade the straps aren't really that tight.
