Anyone have any experience with these? I've become interested in them and am seriously thinking about trying to hunt one down? What are your thoughts on the rifle? What are its strengths and weaknesses?

Held them a bunch of times and always wanted one, but never seem to have the cash when they pop up. Even held the Rashid at one point- really had no idea how rare that one was. Should have grabbed it. Since I seem to be going for all things 6.5 these days probably grad the original Ljungman instead if I ever get the chance. Cool rifles-

I have no idea if its still around but 20 years ago I used to be into C&Rs and would frequent Parallax Bills forum. Lots of happy Hakim owners there back then.

I have one of each (Ljungman and Hakim). 8mm Hakim with its’ muzzle brake would clear out benches to both sides when my brother and I would unleash them.

F-ing up your reload on either one will make “garland thumb” look and feel like a love tap.

fun rifles that will get many second looks at the range. Kinda like hauling out your FN-49

I had one about 35 years ago. They are fun blasters that don't do anything exceptionally well, but aren't bad either. Reliable, about 2.5-3 moa @100 on average. They kick, are heavy and loud. Think of them like an Egyptian garand if you will.
If you get one at a good price I say go for it and have some fun with it.

Talked my brother into buying one cheap years ago.
Its an unusual gun that goes bang. Its fun to have and shoot the weird old semi autos but they don't really do anything well.

As a swede collector, I actually owned and shot quite a few Ljungman, Hakim and Rasheed. I absolutely LOVED how Egyptians Modified Hakim to have an adjustable gas block. 8mm is nowhere close to accuracy of 6.5x55 but it was not, per say, an accuracy type of a weapon.
I think these are a blast to shoot. I got rid of all my Hakim and Rasheed when I consolidated calibers, otherwise great weapons build on Sweden’s machinery.

I have several and find them reasonably accurate. Not as accurate as my Ljungmas, but not bad. Price of these and the Ljungman have jumped in the last several years, so if it is a good price, I wouldn't hesitate.

Alright, alright...here are mine
