I have an idea for a encore barrel ..17 inch threaded then a suppressor.. would a single shot be any more or less quieter than a bolt or semi auto...I like the 300blk but is there any other choices for caliber that would work good suppressed for deer similar

Less noise than a semi for sure.
No different than a bolt gun.

Encore with 16 1/2“ Blackout & Choate folding stock makes a very compact combination.
Longer than the Handi by a nose till you fold it up.
With interchangeable barrels, shoot 300BLK today, .308 tomorrow.
It's so lite, .30-06 is about my limit. I had a .338 Win Mag. Even with a break it was brutal. It's gone now...

This is the most powerful subsonic I could find without a DD stamp. 20" Encore barrel made by SSK, the all aluminum homemade can is 2" by 18" and telescopes over the barrel 6". The lighest loads I use are 637 grain M33 at 1050 fps the heaviest are 950 cast from a CBE mold and 28 grains of WC820.. The video shows me hitting a metal plate at 200 yards, you can see the bullet descending from about a 15" arc at 100 yards. The brass is made from 338 lapua, it costs me about 60 cents per round if I load the brass at least ten times.

The 338 whisper or 338 spector has more punch with a 300 grain bullet than the 300blk's 240 grain bullets with much less recoil than the 510 whisper.

Very cool...that's what I was wanting to see......do you like the encore over the Handi Rifle?

I like them both.
If I could only keep one, it would be the Encore as I've got more barrels to go with it.
I'm also a big fan of the Contender. I've got two Whisper barrels , a threaded 10" and a carbine length plus about 20 more barrels in various calibers.

Nice looking rifles. I had MGM make me a 10" threaded in blk out and like it really well. It shoots 208 Amax with ill gun very good. Took a white tail doe at 70 yards behind my house and she just flipped her tail, at first I thought I'd missed but she went about 50yds and piled up. It's really quiet with the mystic.

I recently picked up a Encore pistol frame. I am wanting to order a barrel specifically for subsonics, and wanted to do one in .308 because dont want to need new reloading stuff. Would a 8" 1-8 twist for heavier bullets be unreasonable? Or would I just be better off going the 300BLK route?

Great now there is another gun that I gotta have !!!

I inherited an Encore in 45-70 with a AWC Thundertrap. A full case of trail boss and a 405 jacket soft point does a number on deer.

And it is legal in Mississippi to use during muzzle loading deer season! Imagine that-- a suppressed rifle considered a primitive weapon because of the 45/70 cartridge (35 whelen works too).

Is that on a Sako action? What can you tell me about the silencer? My Encore 510 whisper works ok, but I wish I had the funds ten years ago for a bolt gun.

Weatherby MK V, .378 Bolt

Not much to say about the suppressor other than it's big. It's nothing special inside, very old school. All Stainless, non-magnetic. JD doesn't recommend it, but it's easy to take apart.
