Is there any difference between the Tac A1 and regular T3X ctr? I’m talking action wise.

HMR vs HMR Pro there are obvious improvements in the action.

Wasn’t sure if the T3X vs Tac a1 was the same or if the extra cost was just getting you the chassis

Tac a1 comes with a two stage trigger and a three position safety. Other than the chassis itself they are the same

Since they seem to run the same price (if I can find a HMR Pro when I decide), is the upgraded HMR Pro a better value at the $1500 price point?

I’m not talking stocks. Obviously the HMR is a semi traditional style vs a chassis. But action wise. And barrel quality. Is the T3X just that good that there is no need to upgrade anything other than put it in a chassis?

Now just need to work on a scope and some rings! Luckily this time of year I’m really busy so I will have plenty of time to find what I want before I’ll even be able to take time to shoot it

You won't be disappointed. I have the TAC A1 in 6.5CM and, with the right factory ammunition (mine likes Prime 130-grain best; the other common match rounds are close behind), it will be remarkably close to custom ammo in custom rifles. Does a 1/4" group capability at 100 yards make me more competitive than a 1/2" capability? Not for the cost in time and effort to work up those optimal loads. Been there, done that, left it behind.

Regarding a scope, find one you like, then be sure to actually call the vendors shown at the bottom of the forum if you want to buy new. Trust me, it's worth your while to do so. If you are comfortable buying used, watch the Hide PX. You might consider the Vortex Razor Gen-1 5-20x50... mine might well appear there when the Gen-2 4.5-27x56 I have on order arrives! The Gen-1 has and continues to serve me well; the question will be whether it replaces one of the Gen-2 Viper PSTs on my other rifles...

Also - get a good bubble level with your scope. Others here may disagree, but I have the Vortex standard one on all my rifles. It's surprising how much difference a tiny amount of cant makes. Mounted well forward on the scope tube, I can glance at it from any position.

I've got a Vortex anti cant bubble level on all my rifles as well in addition to a Sniper Tools Design Co. Angle Degree indicator on a Flatline Ops slot lock mount, just in case my rangefinder decides to lie to me, or its battery takes final leave.
