Rifle Scopes Eotech EXPS3-0 or Burris Fastfire II AR F3 mount

Any thoughts on whether the Burris Fastfire would do the job as a knock about holo type scope in a bolt rifle for close shooting (say 50m to 100m)? Rifle is 308 cal. The Eotech is 1MOA dot and the Burris is 4MOA. Does anyone have any experience with both of these??

I can tell you with the 2moa Aimpoint (CCO/M68) at 300 meters, the 2 moa makes it very hard to see the silhouette, but I can still hit it over and over. It does cover it enough to make it hard to see.

something with 4moa would make it very hard.

at 50-100 meters, the fastfire is PLENTY though.

I have a Fastfire on my Saiga 12, and it holds zero very well. on a .308 it will be no problem. it's such a tiny red dot that you can put it on a scope canted and it will do close distance shots.

no experience with those small Eotechs, but my personal AR15 has one. with that thing, I can hit steel 400-500 yards no problem. with the outer ring (68moa) you can range as well.

for your needs however, I would get the FF II. awesome little sight, and very affordable. Burris def did a good job on it.

and like I said, it can take alot of recoil from the Saiga

The Burris Fastfire is a good budget reflex sight. The EOTech EXPS3-0 is going to cost more but you give you a wider field of view. We currently have the EXPS3-0TAN in -stock:

+ 1 for the Burris FF 2.
I have one on my comp. .22 (S&W 41). hold zero, get bright and dim as needed.
Cant go wrong for the money!

I also have a EXPS3.....the sight pic. is a little full.
But, its top notch kit!.....cost a bit more.

I own both a Fastfire II and two EOTechs - a 512 and an EXPS2-2.

As far as the Eotechs, i like the two dots - the center represents 50 and 200 yards, the lower dot 500 yards. Bottom of the 65MOA circle represents 7 yards.

If I had it to do over again with the Fastfire, I would spend the extra money and go with the Leupold Deltapoint - it's brighter (it still adjusts automatically like the Fastfire). It's probably a personal thing, but for speed, I like bright. It seems like I have to hunt for the dot in the Fastfire.

That being said, I think the Fastfire is a tremendous bargain, and I like the variety of mounts that are offered individually. The ARF3 mount works a lot better than the picatinny wing mount, also by Burris. The ARF3 is just slightly wider, so the optic can be inserted and removed without a third hand. Since the original gasket that makes the Fastfire waterproof can't be used with the picatinny wing protector, Burris told me that it ceases to be wateroproof. A little difficult to describe, but the switch on the side is exposed on the bottom unless the full gasket is used. I believe the full gasket can be used with the ARF3.
