Funny thing yesterday I was shooting at my 1 mile 18" plate (hung as a diamond); I was like 10% with 338LM spotting by myself; I was going to pack up and head to the 1100 yard target, and I thought, lemme give the 223 with 75 ELD at 3000 fps a try just for kicks (since I would switch to that for the 1100 yard target anyway). Admittedly I think the wind was more cooperative by then or I could spot for myself better with less recoil. But holy hell I was getting hits about 1 shot of most strings of 5 and it was a hoot! (can see splash in the desert dust pretty good.)

Should I sell my big bores and build a 22 CM w heavies to save on powder for ELR

Pretty sure you need a new reticle to maximize your ELRness.
