I shot a match yesterday and hung out after to do some load workup testing. Two guys show up to shoot ar's while I am there. They mention getting ready for hunting. They set up near me so I hear them talking. One says lets set up on the 500M berm and his buddy questions it but they do anyway. The set some water jugs at 500 and water jugs at 300M. I do not think much about it untill they return to the firing line. It was like a bad movie. All the jargon being thrown around and used to excess. "did you bring the new mags? Roger" "those are cool looking, Roger that" Did you do this or that? affirmitive.
Then the shooting starts and it gets real funny. They set up and one spots for the other. they are shooting at the 300M berm. " ok, I have no wind. hostile target at 300yds. spotter up- SEND IT!!" a few seconds go by. "send it..... send it... SEND IT!!!!!" Bang. Then a discussion about how many clicks is it to hit at 300yds. I mention the range is in meters and there is a sign above them listing the distances in meters and yards. I also point out the wind flag just to the left of the jugs going nuts. The click discussion continues. At this point I have stopped shooting and am watching their hits thru my scope.
I offer to give them a hand getting them on target and they decline like I am offering driving lessons to Mario Andreti. So I just sit back and enjoy the show.
So aproximately 40 "send its" and 15 shots later a milk jug gets hit. The two jump up and high five eachother. At this point I am laying face down on my mat laughing my ass off. It was one of the funniest things I have seen there. Then the rogers, affirmitive's and send its move to the 500m targets. More discussion of clicks and these BDC things ensues. About 20 shots later one hits the steel rail the jug is sitting on and it falls over onto the ground "FUCK YEAH, I NAILED THAT MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!" Then several attempts to hit the jug on the ground and misses all over the place it was decided barrel heat was the culprit and that is why neither could hit anything. Those damn hot barrels ruing everything, dont they. LOL
I had to call it and packed up my stuff and moved to another range before the accidential discharges or elmer fudd look down the barrel moves could start up. I am still chuckling thinking about the send it, Send It, SEND IT!!!! The targets are stationary, whats the rush. LOL I do not know what type of hunting they were planning on training for but I am quite sure there will be a few animals spared this season but you hunters better look out.
