Eye relief for same max magnification but different magnification range

So this may be a bit confusing or maybe not but I was wondering if I had two Nightforce NX8 scopes, one is the 4x32 and the other is the 2.5x20 does the point the magnification starts to create the black ring happen at the same power or a percentage of max power? Meaning if both scopes are mounted in the same place and are both set to 20 power will they both have the exact same amount of black shadow if eye relief is the same? And then more as you increase zoom more on the 4x32 I assume this is how it works but just wanted to confirm, and yes I know you can adjust the eye relief to fix this. Both scope have the same eye relief in their specs as well.
