They could do that right now with Red Flag laws. The problem being, those citizens would have to know that a certain neighbor has "inventory" before they can call for confiscation. If one is careful not to let on that they are armed and possess weapons, it makes it kinda difficult. Unless, of course, we're talking overt door-to-door confiscation by the ATF based on their "illegal" registry database. Good luck with that.

To date, only one of the neighbors in my cul-de-sac of 12 houses (a fellow pro-2Aer), knows that I am pro-2A but they don't know the amount of Inventory I have. No one knows that but me and my FFL (and, maybe, the ATF). When I would go to the range, I'd pack the car the night before (or very early in the morning) so no one would see what I'm loading in it. Now, my postal carrier knows I might be pro-2A given all the junk mail I get from SAF, GOA etc. etc. Then again, they deliver tons of that to everyone so maybe that won't draw so much attention.
