Report: Brace for ‘Unrest’ if Donald Trump Wins, Democrats Warn

US is too polarized to have real landslide elections anymore.

1984 Reagan 525 over Mondale 13
1980 Reagan 489 over Carter 49
1972 Nixon 520 over McGovern 17
1963 Johnson 486 over Goldwater 52
1936 Roosevelt 523 over Landon 8
1864 Lincoln 212 over McClellan 12
1804 Jefferson 162 over Pinckney 14
(electoral votes)

I wonder what Nov 5th would have looked like without mail in ballots and requiring ID to vote...

Yes, but the 7 swing states (the only ones worth worrying about) the difference on average between the two was only 2.6%, which in most peoples eyes is very close. In the case on WI it was less that 30,000 people who decided the outcome in that state. There are enough voted within the independents to have given Kamala the win.

If the Democrats hadn't kept Brandon for so long, and put in a proper candidate (and not choose Tampon Tim) the election probably would've gone the other way.

The point being the USA didn't all become MAGA hat wearing Trump supports, the results show it's as split down the middle as ever.
The big difference this time round is if Trump is able to pull of half the things he's promised, even if he just ends the war in Ukraine the Republicans will likely do even better this time round.
If however he doesn't and just shitposts on Twitter for 4 years, then the Democrats will sweep back in.
It's so easy to analyze the politics of a foreign country from afar, thinking that you understand it so well when in reality you barely do.

I know you mean well, unlike that MrBR moron, but it never stops amusing me how foreigners like to tell us how things are here....

this is not an accurate take. at all.

i only agree on the thing you said where Trump needs to get stuff done. Hopefully, if the senate majority leader is blocking his agenda, they will swiftly replace him just like the Kevin McCarthy Dipshit.

Don't underestimate the enemy. They have trained and tact'd up since the Obama terms.

Plus, they have fanatical youth on their side.
Not being afraid isn't the same as underestimating.

Do you think we haven't been studying and documenting antifas (and similar groups) tactics?

Those fucks have hardly met real opposition yet. And when they have (Rittenhouse) they folded.

The deal here is, they are actively gearing up for a war whereas the Right is standing there saying 'Come at me, Say when, Skin that smoke wagon, etc'.

Meanwhile, they're looking for leadership and there are those qualified and experienced to lead them. Thats Ok and acceptable. But if the Right does that it's *gasp* a militia! Far Right extremists, conservative white men, Racists, Nazis!

There needs to be well organized armed militias just like volunteer fire departments. The government proved it can't be trusted.

Inside every 'gook Democrat is a commie that wants to see you dead.

What we say in public and what we do in private are two different things.

Stop giving a shit about things you can't control.

How do you know that they don't exist? That shit is like fight club.

Ok

Stop giving a shit about things you can't control.

I'll give a shit, thats the first step in being aware, something many that dumbly vote Democrat don't do.
And after enough 'giving a shit' you can even control or at least keep it in check. Republicans just won a tri-lateral victory by giving a shit..

How do you know that they don't exist? That shit is like fight club.
Ok

I don't really see what there is to argue about with what I said. It's pretty much inline with what every political commentator in the US has said in this last election cycle. For the most part I'd say my views/understanding on US politics stacks up pretty well.
Definitely better than either the woke idiots all over Reddit, or some of the more extreme folks from the otherside.

As far as foreigners discussing US politics, I appreciate most people outside the US have no idea how it works (I heard multiple people stating Trump will start WW3...), it's never stopped foreign politics being discussed here.

Rather than complain about I'll try give context and a background explanation, as opposed to just saying, you'll never understand.

Like it or not, we all live in our own echo chamber to some degree or another, and peoples outsider views are an antidote to the echo.

Lol the ones that were predicting a Democrat landslide?

Cause almost every single one of them was.

Worry about your own rights-less wokelandia first.
