Hornady 140 ELD-M 6.5 Cm or Prime 6.5 Cm? Thoughts. Worth the price difference?

Depends on your rifle. I tried hornady 140ELD, 120ELD, 129SST, Federal 140 Match, Fed 130 GMM Bergers, and Prime 130s. My rifle preferred the Prime and FED GMM 130s. Lowest SD and best Groups.

Both shoot phenomenally well in my AI AT. I used to buy PRIME exclusively but due to the great pricing on Hornady, I tried it. I like it. I have also tried the 147 ELD-M and that is also a winner.

My rifles like the Hornady 140 ELDM'S better that the Primes.

My creedmoor liked the Hornady ELD 140 so much I didn’t see any reason to try a more expensive ammo. Of course your rifle may have a different preference

My AI AE with 22" 1:8 barrel from MHS was getting mid single digits SDs

That’s great, I’m getting 9-15fps with Hornady ELD 147’s our of my AIAX depending on the lot.

Try both but the Hornady shoots great in my Creedmoors. I use it in matches. SDs are around 10-12 but it doesn't effect the performance so don't get too hung up on the numbers.

Here is the 147 ELD-M at 650 yards. Shot the bottom 3 and moved POA up as I was seeing only one splash and shot the other two. Shoots like that farther out too. The 140s shoot similar too.

My AXMC liked the Prime better - lower SD and smaller groups than the Hornady ELD or AMAX. Shot about 500 rounds at a class late last year to test out.

650 yards actually It's my original Creedmoor built by GA Precision in 2008 but the third barrel. It's a GAP Templar action, Bartlein 27" 8 twist Med Palma, Manners T3 stock and Badger DBM.
