I have a factory built McMillan Tac-308 that was built by a USMC Scout Sniper when he retired from the Corps. It was built in '08 and is a true M40A5 clone. He built it to be close to the weapon that he used when he was in Corps. It has a 26" Schneider barrel, Jewell trigger, badger base and rings, badger DBM, and Harris bipod. The barrel is straight fluted and it has an Elite Iron Muzzle Brake. I have the original receipt from McMillan that shows that upon purchase the gun was over $8000. This price was including a nightforce scope, pelican case, 4 mags, and a few other extras. I did not get the weapon with the scope or the extra mags, but I did get it with everything else. So subtracting the scope and mags, the gun was over $6000 new. In it's lifetime it has had less than 800 rounds through it and for me it has been a .25 MOA gun. Several groups have been even smaller at 100 yards. Although I have not been able to run this particular gun over 400 yards, I'm confident it would do it's part considering I can do mine.
Although I'm not interested at all in selling as this has been the most accurate bolt gun I've came across, I was just wondering what you guys think it would bring in todays market in which there are so many viable and consistent bolt guns for much less money than this one was new. I've tried to look up similar McMillan firearms but being as this one was a one-off gun and you don't see too many factory McMillan's out there I've had some trouble coming up with a good figure. This one is in excellent condition with a few very minor safe marks.
Gun currently has a S&B 5-25x56 but I'm simply interested in a figure for the gun without any accessories. If you need more pics or info, I'd be happy to give them!
Thanks in advance,
M. Wright
