Rifle Scopes Falcon Alternative

Re: Falcon Alternative

Im not totally sure, but i dont think there is a falcon alternative in the same price range. the draw of the falcon was that it provided normally expensive features such as FFP and mil/mil for a relatively inexpensive price, but quality seems to be a problem, though there are many that love their falcons.

the closest competitors would probably be the Super Sniper 3-9 FFP for $600 or the Bushnell 4200 3-12 FFP for $630. they cost more but personally i would trust them more as well.

yes, bushnell 4200 has ffp mil/mil in a 3-12x44 and a 6-24x50. you can check them out on swfa.com or other sites.

and unless im mistaken, i dont think the WOTAC scopes are ffp or mil/mil besides the 10x40 fixed. the others i thought are sfp and moa adjustments. but no matter what they are still good scopes.

Re: Falcon Alternative

I've been shooting a couple of Falcon Menace scopes for a year now. One on a rimfire and the other on a 6.5X47Lapua hunting rifle. The scopes have been checked on the tracking board that I check all my scopes on and they track as well as my USO scopes. The durability seems to be good as they are both used scopes. The glass is what you would get out of a 350-400 scope. It is very good for what it is and I think is a good value.
I have no doubt other scopes are equally good at the same price point, but if you can even find a Falcon to buy you will not have wasted your money.

Re: Falcon Alternative

I don't believe current WOTACS are FFP mil/mil.

Another thing to consider is the amount of internal adjustment. You'll need at least 60 MOA internal and a 20 MOA base to get out to 1000 yards (.308). Many of these lower priced scopes just don't make that requirement. Falcons do! I don't know of any other brand scope that is FFP, mil/mil, adjustable magnification, 60 plus MOA adjustment, and in the $400-$500 price range. The Super Sniper 3X9 runs a tad over $600 with shipping, but the magnification isn't what most people want. The new Vortex PST FFP will run around $800 plus. Decisions....Decisions!
