I like keeping a can of aerosol gun oil/lube in my range bag. I greatly prefer the aerosol for ease of application at the range. Rem Oil has been what I have been using for years, but it is getting hard to find and there may be something better out there. There are lots of aerosol CLPs, but being a 3 in 1 do they have as good of lubricating properties as a gun "oil"? If you keep an aerosol product in your range bag, what is it?

I keep an aerosol rem oil in my range bag, but i have small glasses spray bottles with lucas gun oil in each of my rifle bags. That stuff seems to work good too but it has more odor to it than the rem oil i feel.
Has anyone use this Rem Oil Pro?

I have always favored CRC products for car stuff. I have never thought about using it for guns.
Rem Oil in my range bag. bought the Breakfree clp foam and hated it, too messy and hard to place accurately where you need it.
I've been using more automotive products for gun and bike applications. These products are often better than the "proper" products, and much cheaper.
Permatex has a foaming wire/cable/chain lube that is a bit thicker and "tackier" than normal spray-can stuff:

I still have a can of this stuff that a buddy gave me about 10 years ago when cleaning out his work van. A little goes a long ways.
For cleaning and water displacement, any WD40-type product works well. A small spray can of that and a small dropper bottle filled with motor oil will address most issues at the range.
Always thought this test was kind of interesting.

It aint cheap but its supposed to be some fantastic lube.....used sparingly 2 ounces will be a lifetime supply for my 1911 slides and any sears I care to expend it on.

you dont need magical unicorn jizz.......go to walmart and buy literally anything on the shelf called "oil" and it will work for you.
there is not a person on earth who can tell the difference between oils when shooting......the guns dont perform better and i personally dont know a single person who has ever "worn out" a gun......

Yeah, Im not safe to leave alone with extra money in the wallet.
On the serious side though from book reading and other personal curiosity I have read some amazing things about the age of whaling and the qualities of sperm whale oil.
Im assuming this is "cask oil" from the skull of the leviathan. From what Ive read its not fully understand why or what sperm whales have developed the biological feature for but it was found for burning or machining nothing worked as well as sperm oil in its day.
Watchmakers favored it Im guessing because it never dries or gums up, just keeps on lubing.
Unknown if anything surpasses it today.
Reality is its only a geek/enthusiast buy. I will use it on 1911 slides.
Anything will work as long as its applied and cleaned/freshened up from time to time.
I think the video guys concotion actually pretty good but i would probably be a bit neater in application than he is. Looks like that Cherry Balmz lube.
I usually use TW-25B grease on most things but it will "dry" to some extent over time.
Took an overtime tonight because Im ready to buy something totally unnecessary other than "I want". Im such a child.
