The targets are set up to be the same dimensions as any of the targets that are commercially available, to be used with 8.5" x 11"; printer paper, and to use minimal ink. For the 4P 5 bull target, a portion of the edge can be folded and matched / stapled / taped to the other side - essentially making one large target.

Scores of all the short range competitions will sorted by the type of competition, distance, caliber, and sighting device used and compiled at month's end. Scores found in error can be corrected by the origninal creator of that month's thread.

I wasn't really expecting much today, just a chance to get out and have some fun. SV hasn't shot that well for me in the past, but I was discouraged by the performance of the Eley Sport I used last month. I ordered a brick of SK Standard Plus, but it hasn't gotten here yet (imagine that!), so I was left with limited choices for accurate loads. I have a ton of .22lr stashed, but very little quality stuff, mostly for plinking and hunting. However, I have several hundred rounds of CCI SV, so I decided to give it a go and shoot some groups, with the idea that if it grouped, I'd try some of the targets.

Surprise, surprise! Almost no wind, 72F (southern Arizona), 4700', and the stuff gave me some very encouraging groups off a heavy bag, so I decided to shoot the bugs and the short 4psn.

I haven't even tried Support Side ever, or 50yd in months. Been really busy, so I was just glad to get to shoot today. If I get time later to shoot some more, maybe I'll give them a go. Hopefully, the SK will get here, and I will be blown away with the groups my rifle will give me.

And maybe I'll borrow a better scope to shoot with, too.

Please be patient with me, I want to participate but I don't want to make a mistake.

I'm going to shoot 25 yards (my range's rifle range sucks past 25 yards - bad lighting).

Could you please tell me which target to use, and I see everyone using abbreviations and I need to know what they mean before I make an moron out of myself.

Tony, I'm guessing you are going to shoot the 25 yard - 4 position - (25Y4P)... If so, this is the target we use, TQ3-5;

Also, Top Predator has a link in the Rules where you can run copies of this target.

Course of fire is;

Top Left Bull - 5 Shots Standing
Top Right Bull - 5 Shots Kneeling
Center Bull - 5 Shots Sitting
Low Left Bull - 5 Shots Prone (Unsupported)
Low Right Bull - 5 Shots Pron (Supported with bipod, bags, rest)

Just check out the rules - all the info is there along with other short range matches. Jump on in, it's pretty fun!

Wow, this was tough. Threw one shot out of the 7 ring (0 pts) one shot EACH for first three positions. Im blaming the cold, but it was really a lack of patients and practice.

I can shoot better than that kneeling. I had the same problem kneeling last month. I'm pretty sure what is happening is I am having a mental letdown after the off-hand target. Off-hand is a pretty tall order for me. I'll have to see if I can keep myself in check next month.

I was going to try support side this month but a lack of time and ammo caused me to postpone it till next month at least. We'll see just how ugly a target can get!

Though I have yet to try what I think may be some better ammo in my rifle I would like to move out to 50 yards. The Eley Sport seemed pretty good so far. It was all I could find! I would have to find another place to shoot because my spot has enough of a rise at about 25 yards to make it impossible to shoot 4P from 50. I'll be looking around.

i'm working it now, just realized today, and reworked the lettering, but am having NO luck with the links. probably the Vbull will not recognize the UBB of old.

i'm not a computer whiz or a moderator, so it's poke & hope / pray & panic mode. i don't want to bother the mods for anything as i'm sure they have their hands full

worse case is all the old stuff is lost, and new stuff will have to get reposted / linked, perhaps not as fancy schmancy as before until i learn a few tips.

...stand by.

i used to keep a copy and paste of the rules and such on a word document on the home computer, damned if i can find it now. if anyone has a copy they can PM me i'd appreciate it to save me a whole lotta typing.

you guys are welcome,

in the words of han solo: "i gotta bad feeling 'bout this".

if though i can't retrieve stuff, for the time being, i'll try to rebuild the more popular stuff - i think the archival stuff is gone :(

a quick patch to at least keep it going through March until i can get some tips on how to do stuff without be an official anybody.

i think i got it good enough for now until i figure out the vbull stuff.

new links, rules etc.

i changed up a few things that had gotten stagnant, you guys may want to take a quick look. no big changes, just some nomenclature crap to make it easier at the end of the month to pull it all together when time is short.

it should be GTG.
