Experienced a primer rupture today shooting a Tikka T3 TAC A1 in 260 Remington. It did cause a pit in the bolt face along with a carbon ring around the primer perimeter. The primer was a Federal GM210M (yeah, the gold medal match variety) No apparent damage or abnormalities on the brass or primer pocket. None of the other rounds fired showed any signs of overpressure. Primer seating was all normal during the reload process. I had heard of this happening with Winchester primers but not with Federal. Any thoughts?
