Hello to all im new here and am looking for some feedback and info on a Springfield 4-14X56mm illuminated reticle ballistically calibrated to 168gr .308 scope with internal level? Also trying to track down a sunshade for it as Springfield does not have any? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Tim

Yeah, stay away! There's a reason they don't sell them anymore. A friend of mine had several, they all ended up back at factory at one point in time. I'm pretty sure the reticle is not suppossed to turn with the power ring.

Re: Feedback on a Springfield 4-14X56mm IR Scope

I've had one for quite a while and I'm ok with it. I have the Mil dot reticle. They were made by a company called Hakko who is still making scopes. I have it on a .260 and works good for the money. I shoot it out to 1,000 yards without a problem and it returns to my 100 yard zero in another words it does what it's supposed to. Springfield had some quality control issues with these so it seems if you get a good one, you were pretty lucky otherwise a lot of them were crap. I guess I got a good one since I haven't had any problems. The only thing I don't like about it is the 7.5 MOA per rotation which makes it a pain when shooting out a little farther so I have to use the sadia lines on the turret to keep track of my come ups. I use it because I have it but I think there are better optics but you will pay more.

just my .02 worth
