Hogs never cease to amaze me. Ive never seen a 4 legged animal with such a will to live. Me and 4 other guys shoot 308s with thermals and most of our shots are 30yds-100yds. We shoot the 168 and 175grn SMKs and the effects are truly devastating. The other (hunting) bullets were not as effective cause of the design and range we were shooting. We were getting pass through shots and the bullets didnt have a chance to do what they were designed to do.

We switched to the SMKs and they are grenading inside the hogs. We still get exits but the damage is WAY more. Now, most of the hogs we find that run off have a couple feet of entrails drug behind them, or bursting out, and body parts blown off. Obviously im talking about the shots following the opening volley, where they are running full speed and we are just looking to place bullets on flesh as best as we can.

This is all eradication, and at the request of land owners. So dont flame me for unethical shot placement.

Did you ever try 155-168 Amaxs? They work well on game. And should fragment a little quicker than the SMKs

Yes 3 Revolutions in the pics. By far the best rifles we've ever used in the fields. They start out light. But when we add thermals, suppressors they get heavy again. Mine went from 7lbs empty and stripped to 12lbs with a thermal, 25rd mag and suppressor

SMK do the same damage at 500 on hogs, and after the first shot all bets are off on shot placement

I haven't done any precision work with it yet... I've only been using cheap blasting ammo within 100y.

No reliability issues with it so far.
