Looking to get a new scope for a lighter weight hunting rig. I'm running a mcree chassis with a 20" 300wm barreled action. I currently have a USO 5-25 on it and I'm building a 20" 308 to match it. I'm looking to go to a lighter weight scope and preferably run the same scope on both rifles. I am really looking a the NF F1 with a MOA reticle. If not that maybe a Vortex Vipers PST FFP. I have never used one and dont know if the quality is close. Generally in Glass you get what you pay for. I'm looking in the 3-15, 2-10 kind of power range. Is there any scopes I'm over looking that would fit the bill. BYW I have a nice carbon fiber dipped USO in the classifieds if anybody needs one. Thanks. I know this isn't the hunting section but I will run this rifle as a match and/or target rifle when I'm not hunting with it.

Re: FFP Hunting scope?

I have a Hensoldt 3-12x56 on a 20" 308 TRG that I use for a combo tactical/hunting rig. Great low light scope, standard mil-dot (which I like for hunting), relatively light 28 ounces, and very easy to pick up the image quickly. It is nice and handy on the short TRG.

+1 to this. I have a 3-12FF Henny on my 19" LTR and it is now my favorite mid-range deer rifle.
