I shot and shot with 140gr VLDs and could not get them to group. Figured I should give another bullet a go so I bought 142gr SMKs. After 2 long and frustrating range sessions including finding a loose scope mount after the last one I have struck gold. It is amazing what a difference .010 of an inch when talking seating depth. Here are 4 of the best groups from today.

Yeah it does make a huge difference some times with seating depths, great final groups. I'm going to try the 130 veld out of my 260 and see how that goes. What were you getting for velocity with the 41.5 gr with vld and with 42 gr in the smk.

I was shooting some 140 Amax and I was getting average of 2750 with 42 gr so they are pretty close I'm going to try some 130 vld and see how they shoot, good luck shooting.

Reading all these post about how great everyones .260 shoots really makes it hard to be patient with my .260 build...

Cant wait to pull the trigger!

Great shooting! Those groups really put a smile on my face and I'm not even the one that shot them.

260 is incredibly easy to develop a load for. You will wonder how you got by without one.

I have a 1998 LH 10 Tactical with a 24" 8 twist bbl. Bought it used and tried a lot of bullets and powders and settled on the 139 Lapuas and 42.2gr. of vit. 550. They are running around 2840fps. I just wish I could shoot as good as the gun.
