Finished AR build...well almost...GUN PORN!

Well, its been a long time coming but its finally <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="text-decoration: underline">almost</span></span> done. All I need to do is get a good break, install my Adams Arms Piston system when it gets here and try to find an ambi mag release that will work with the BAD lever. Any suggestions?

I took it to the range yesterday morning and got the sights zeroed and ready to go but I'm afraid I was having so much fun with it I forgot to take any pictures.

When my piston gets in I plan to throw about 1k rounds down range to see how it holds up.

In the mean time...


*** One note on the Micro T-1. The dot size is not actually 4MOA. Its more like 2.5-3. This was a pleasant suprise when I turned it on for the first time!***







Im open to suggestions on what to do next. Turn it into an SBR, supressors, etc.

I would leave it alone, consider it finished.MAYBE duracoat the rest of it tan and paint some camo colors to break up the outline.Otherwise shoot it and go build another one! How about a 6.5G/6.8 SPC/ 458 Socom build?

Making the rest FDE would make it look pretty nice, Cerakote though for sure. I want to put a comp on it though. The A2 isnt very good at flash suppression and isnt a very good break either. It also is known for pushing high and right. Im considering Battlecomp, or something that would work with some AAC kit.
I also want to put a light on it at some point, although Ive not researched it at all and have no idea where to start other than maybe looking at surefire for a compact bright light.

I'd invest in a good sling and a muzzle break. Other than that, I'd leave it alone until you've an opportunity to put a number of rounds down range. Once you've had an opportunity to shoot it a little, you may find something that need to be tweaked. Also, I'd loctite anything that might come loose while shooting, like the sights.

Already have a good sling. Magpul MS2 =) I love it.

I believe SBR'ing it or suppressing it will each put you in the $200 annual tax stamp requirement- just making sure you knew that, before you spent a lot of money on it!

I think it looks great the way it is- and probably pretty light weight, too. I'm probably getting a Larue RISR/CTR combo soon so maybe you should get the RISR now and tell me how you like it! heh

I was under the impression the tax stamp was a one time deal as a transfer tax of any NFA item. It is very light weight. Everyone who held it at the range was extremely impressed by how light it was. I love the knights micro mount. Not only did it mount solid to the rail but its easy to use long lever QD mount is perfect for what I use it for. My only gripe is that the KAC ambi mag release doesn't work with the bad lever. Im sure if the lever went back a little further it would though. A shorty QD vert grip is also in order. The big one just hangs down too much for me. I don't grab it at all, it's just my reference point for my hand.

It's a fun little system. The dot is bigger but isn't overly large and I found myself able to easily put a 3-4in group at 200m with it. I even rested the Mag in the dirt and fired. No misfeeds of malfunctions. All it needs is some tweaking.

Yes.... I know.... The RRA gas block doesnt allow it go to the correct way.... But they are only Midwest Industries sights. I will have some other sights (Troy) to put on once my Adams Arms Piston comes in.

Rail height issues aside, she shoots straight, clean, and fast. Another package of goodies will be here tomorrow... woohoo!

I added the Magpul RSA, and some Ranger plates and gen 3 followers for my metal mags to my Tango Down grip that was about to ship out. So all of it should be here in the morning.

My girlfriend is starting to call her "the other woman" haha!
