Could someone tell me what is the firing pin protrusion on a 700 Remington and the measurement between the bolt rim and the back of barrel. Also, could you tell me a good book for this and of information on blow printing the 700 Remington.

so you want someone to <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">tell</span></span> you what the firing pin <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">protrusion </span></span> on a Remington 700 should be and the amount of clearance you should have <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">between</span></span> the bolt and the barrel for head spacing.
I don't know a book that contains this kind of <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">information</span></span> so I can't <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">tell</span></span> you that either, and if you want your action <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">blue</span></span>-printed, take it to a smith that knows what he's doing. In the mean time I'd recommend reading this

Thanks for being a donkey's @ss and explaining to me about a dictionary... Glad your so helpful on a GUNSMITHING WEBSITE and leave usless information about a dictionary... Hope you have questions one day regarding a weapon and someone leaves you with a retard answer like this one smart guy.... If I wanted help with my writing I would be on a dictionary website!

firstly let me apologize, I was in a bad mood and I shouldn't have posted the way I did. I understand it wasn't helpful.

Firing pin Protrusion on a Remington 700 bolt should be about 0.055" (.040 to .060 acceptable)however, David Tubb <span style="font-style: italic">Recommended</span> 37 thou in a discussion with a friend of mine. There is no definitive answer to the question but these values should give you a starting point.

As for the rest of your questions, I'm as ignorant as you seem to be. hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge can chime in.

Hey bud, I'm not trying to be smart ass either but I had to read your first post about 3 times and still wasn't sure my interpretation of what I read was correct.

I don't have any of the answers to your questions. Just wanted to help you understand that being able to put your questions into a readable/recognizable form will get you more answers and less BS.

Good luck with your build. The M700's are fine rifles when you have a good one.
