Does the main advantage of the 6 CM lie in the ability to seat the bullets further with less issues out than say a .243?
I believe the 6cm to be a more efficient chambering over the 243 in a couple ways. Brass life is big plus in the current market as is less powder capacity. I think barrel life will prove to be longer also. If your going to compete I think you would find the velocity to be at the legal upper limit without the need to download the cartridge.
Savage LRP action with a Bartlein barrel that I chambered with a PTG reamer that is bedded to a very nice Manners T5a stock with a CDI bottome metal. Nightforce 12-42 was used for testing
What did you say the velocity was again? How long or short is the throat in this rifle? I've got a 183" and I'm not getting groups like that from Hybrids.
Velocity was just under 3,000 at 43 grns. These were recorded with a borrowed magneto chronograph and it was the first time using it so I wouldn't bet on those numbers. The barrel isn't even broken in yet so I imagine those loads would clock a hair higher once it is. I'm not sure on throat but I purchased the reamer from PTG...I'll see if I can find out tho.

My Bartlein was broke-in after the first shot, it's the only time I ever got any blue on the patch, you're broke in, trust me. If you have a 275 neck you probably have the same reamer that I have. I'd say that magneto chrono isn't telling the truth, 43grs should give you 3200+.
I can believe it like I said the chrono was borrowed and it's something I am familiar with so I wouldn't trust the numbers anyway. I was more interested in the groups then the numbers next time out I'll get some better readings hopefully
