Are there basic classes for firearms specific first aid appropriate for competition and ranges (rather than war or being an EMT)?

Hands on would be best but I don’t see much out there.

I want a day or a weekend at most, I don’t care about merit badges or certificates I just want to get the basics just in case.

Look for a TECC (Tactical Emergency Casualty Care) class in your area. TECC is an offshoot of TCCC, but designed for the civilian world. It may be more than you are looking for, but is head and shoulders beyond the AHA class, which is just basic first aid (I teach all three of these courses). GSWs are not something you want to wait to treat until the Paramedics show up. Get the training, but more importantly, get the gear and carry it with you all the time. A tourniquet, Israeli bandage and quikclot don't take up much room at all, especially in your range bag, and might save a life, even your own.

Thanks. Yes I own most of the essentials you see in the kits but haven't done more than reading... Did a search for TECC and found several levels and dates to choose from. Thanks!

Take an A.H.A (American Heart Association) First-Aid/CPR course. They will teach everything you need to know to manage a gun shot wound and other trauma until professional help arrives.

No, they don't at all, at least not the one I took (Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED) two years ago. There was no mention of tourniquet among MANY other things.
