Shot my first ever deer the day after Christmas on my parents' farm in VA! One shot in front of the shoulder with a 165gr Nosler Accubond.

.308, it snuck up behind me, so the shot was only 80 yards. My brother dropped one that night with that rifle at 230 yards though!

Correct on the rifle! The brake is from a Sako TRG. Its for sale over on the for sale page!

Jesse there is absolutely nothing wrong with a close shot. For me it means I have done my scouting properly. Keep practicing with the 308 then go get you a bow. It gets really personal then!
