Welcome to the world of addiction.. you are now officially screwed.. 
Now that you have tasted shooting rifle, you find yourself wanting more
info and knowledge.
Sounds to me like you are on the right track. Just get out there and shoot
some more. The little details of how to fine tune your zero, using your
turrets and reticle, will come quite quickly with a bit more time behind
your rifle. You will find that how it all works will become very second
natures you shoot more.
Your find of a 1000yd shooting spot that close to your residence is an
awesome find. I know I would relish that convience.
Keep shooting, it will all come together real quick for you..

I subscribed to the training section for a few months. It was good. It was about a year ago tho. Perhaps I'll get back in there for a spell.
