Just ordered a Nomad 30. Now I get to wait for it to transfer to my local shop and then start the LOOOONGGG Form 4 wait time.
Yup. I'm two months in on two suppressors and 20 days on a backorder list for another.
I'm doing my best to forget about it. If I see them by Christmas I'll consider myself lucky.
I've heard mixed reviews on the Trust. Why would you recommend a trust vs. individual?
As of now I don't see any need to have them in a trust. Wife won't use them, and no family to share them with. I may consider transferring to a trust down the road if I see benefit. I've heard the trust takes longer to process as well.
I'm in the same boat. All 3 of mine were filed as individual. So is the one I have pending.
Once you fill them as an individual, you would need to pay $200 each to put them under a trust. If under a trust, you have more options for allowing people to borrow them without you being present. Additionally, if (by some unfortunate incident) your significant other decides to file "red flag" laws against you, then your best friend becomes your really best friend instead of the local Sherriff assuming possession of your favorite toys for an extended amount of time. And then good luck trying to get them back when or if you get cleared of the charges. Even if your neighbor decides to charge you with assault, then they are protected. They can take longer in the process, but if you are wanting quick for any stamp, then you efile anyway. Both form 4s and 1s can be under the same trust. I think you can even sell the trust as a whole (so long as they pass the background check), if you plan on getting out of the business. I see the benefit, just trying to spread the word....

I trust my wife. I don't trust my neighbor. And here it is "if" stupid happens to me and my neighbor accuses me of anything stupid, then my wife has possession of all my toys, not the government. I hope you stay away from stupid, but "if" you run into stupid, individual filed forms will not help you... Ever...

You won't care too much how long it takes to transfer it into a trust because you will have possession of it and be shooting it while you wait. As far as whether to go trust or individual, if there is no one you want to share the suppressor with, or leave it to when you die, there is no advantage to a trust.
As for how long it takes to get approval for a trust, a couple of months ago I got a Banish 30 in a trust. It was tricky because the two Responsible Parties are my son and I, and we live in different states. However, from the time I called and placed the order with Silencer Central to the time we had the suppressor in our hands was under 5 months.
I have heard of other fast turn-arounds like that, and I have also heard of some taking over a year. It seems to be a crap shoot.

I hear you on stupid people being out there. Seems too many people can't mind their own business now days. The fact that a suppressor is a regulated item is a good example! Yet I went into the store on Saturday and had a new Glock 20 in an hour.
16, 14, 13, and 10. Months I've waited in order for my four suppressors. Mind as well get comfy and forget about it for now.

Your family has enough to deal with when you go, the hoops they'll have to go through to inherit those cans won't be fun. With that said, I went individual.
And since you're already waiting, go ahead and get one or two more now. You're gonna do it anyway.

Truth. I have three in jail and an approved form 1 for a 4th. Still eyeing at least 2 more cans though.

Each item needs it's own tax stamp so it is its own form.

I've been waiting 9 months for a 2 stamp; now that the paperwork is here, I have to wait another 10 days (minimum) because my state requires a 10 day waiting period. Semi-auto rifles and pistols are now in this waiting category. Can I sue for stupidity?
