So, I got myself a Rem 700 LTR in .308 w/ 20" barrel a few months ago. I have put 100 or so rounds down range at 100 yards. I have the rifle nicely zeroed at this distance.
There is match at my club Saturday, a 300 yard match, and I have been invited to join in. I figured, "Heck, might as well jump in the deep end. Even if I come in last, I will still have fun and learn lots."
I will not have a chance to shoot at 300 yards before the match though. So, although I plan to reseach and calculate this later, I would like advice from the experts on this forum to help me be close on my first shot. And to help make sure my answer matches what you recommend.
With the rifle above, and a Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20 LR/T w/ 1/4 MOA clicks and Hornady 168g BTHP Match ammo, how many clicks do I need to come up?
And if there are any other tips for my first match, I'll be happy to listen.
