Fix It Sticks are AWESOME!

As I've started shooting more field matches, I've really started noticing how heavy my backpack is. Always trying to be prepared for whatever hiccups might occur, I pretty much always have a mess of tools in my pack. They have served me and my fellow squad mates well on numerous occasions. But those tools are heavy. And bulky.

I was vaguely aware of Fix It Sticks from some friends, but had never had the chance to handle them. They are tough, lightweight, and compact. To give you an idea, I weighed all the tools I was toting in my bag, then weighed a few sets of Fix It Sticks.

I haven't decided which of the Fix It Sticks kits I'm going to keep for myself. I could put all 3 in my bag and still be lighter than I was before. And I kinda want to.

I love mine. I got to the point i quit taking tools to the range because of the weight and bulk. The little fix it sticks now lives in my range bag.

I've got the kit pictured in the middle. It goes with me everywhere. It has become the most essential piece after rifle and ammo.

I agree the Fix-It kits are great, but there's a lot of duplication in your initial kit that could have been eliminated with some thought.

Best investment I’ve made on tools. They live in my range box just in case I need them at the range. And I’ll always have them at home. Doesn’t make sense to not carry them around!

Definitely a Great kit to have in the Rifle case.

Did anyone else have the oh shit factor when you first used. I was tightening the barrel lug bolt on my AI expecting it to click or pop when torque was reached. Instead it just turned with a gritty feel and made a slight squeal. At first I thought I stripped the bolt and was like F@@k. Had to look it up how they worked when torque was reached.

Definitely would recommend to anyone to pick up a set

I love the set I made.
My kit will do all of the bolts on my 5 ar's, Ruger 10/22, and all but one bolt on my Mossberg shotgun so I only have one kit to worry about.
I don't have the torque sticks but I will get them in the future.
All I wanted when I made the kit was a universal kit for all my long guns which it does great and in a small kit.

I bought the Long Range Kit with each individual limiter. Picked up a all in one used off here.

Really comes down to preference. The All-In-One is a great kit, but its torque driver doesn't limit your torque, but rather gives you a way to visually monitor how much torque you're applying so you know when to stop. Care must be taken to only apply up to the appropriate torque level. The torque limiters will slip once you've reached the torque specified on the limiter so it's virtually impossible to over torque.

Pretty handy little kit. I bought one mainly for the torque limiter for changing barrels on a switchlug setup but find myself using it quite a bit for other stuff.

Funny, I buy tools randomly here and there...and end up with duplicates of stuff.

When I got my fixit sticks set...it took over and its the only thing I bring now...luv them. I got the works...but seriously, I'm never gonna use the 1911 bushing tool or the cleaning rod. I have better tools for those kind activities. Their kits are pretty expensive tho.

Agreed with all above. I just got my third set. The all in one is a great tool to have in the field. First set of bits I had were kind of iffy but replaced with dewalt and since then everything perfect. I do add a set of small Eklind hex keys in every bag too.

More personal preference. I have the all in one and a set I carry in my pack that has limiters, which was my first kit, and they both work great. If looking to lighten it up and keep the pieces down then the all in one is a great choice. Performance is the same between them though.
